New Green Roof Waterproofing Brochure
An effective and highly durable waterproof membrane is essential for the long-term success of any green roof scheme. Since the membrane is covered from the outset, any latent defects will not be apparent until too late, at which point repairs can be extremely costly and time consuming.
As one of the country's leading producers of cold-applied liquid roofing systems, Polyroof Products Ltd has produced a new brochure on Green Roof design and specification. The brochure includes detail drawings and technical information on Intensive and Extensive green roof designs as well as typical designs for warm roofs and inverted roofs - using Polyroof systems as flexible, highly durable, seamless waterproofing membranes.
Polyroof’s tough, reinforced waterproofing systems are available for new roofs and roof refurbishment projects - all are highly resistant to root penetration and come with flexible guarantees and BBA approvals. Specially recommended for new green roofs is the Polyroof 185 GRP system. Based on a specially developed flexible resin matrix, Polyroof 185 was the first GRP flat roofing system to receive British Board of Agrement approval and was awarded a 30-year durability rating. Since there is no risk of membrane degradation by UV light in a green roof construction, the life of any Polyroof 185 would likely be even further extended. This system comes with a 20 year insurance-backed guarantee.
For green roof building onto an existing sound substrate, Polyroof offer two flexible and versatile overlay membrane systems, Elastex (polyurethane based) and Protec (polyester based). Elastex is a BBA approved system with 10-25 year flexible guarantees while Protec is approved to international FM and UL standards with guarantees ranging from 15-20 years. The Polyroof Technical Services team will give advice and offer free site surveys and specification service.
