Polyroof scores well in Life Cycle Costing

A recent study carried out by an independent consultancy has shown that, over a 30-year lifespan, Polyroof liquid applied roofing systems are very cost efficient compared to alternative solutions.

Tweeds cost consultancy has developed a software model to compare alternative systems over a 20, 25 and 30-year life, using accurate cost data compiled from the BCIS. The model is designed to be project specific and is a very useful tool for assessing the right solution for each project: taking into account factors such as durability, maintenance, vandalism and thermal insulation.

When the model was recently applied to the re-roofing and refurbishment of Connahs Quay swimming baths for Flintshire County Council, Polyroof 185 and Elastex - especially the 20-year system – were shown to provide the optimal solution. In this instance the cost benefit analysis demonstrates the real value of Polyroof materials over a given period compared to alternative systems, which may offer lower initial installation costs but prove more expensive over the longer term.
