Polyroof Replaces Deteriorated School Roof
Case Study - Caslte Douglas High School, Dumfries

The gymnasium roof at Castle Douglas High School had been leaking severely over a period of time and the existing roof had deteriorated considerably as a result. Numerous repairs had been carried out in an attempt to prevent water ingress, however these had only had limited success and were becoming increasingly costly.

Local authority decided to take action and specified the Protec Warm Roof system for a complete refurbishment of the roof. The existing saturated roof build-up was stripped and a new quality plywood deck installed in its place. A vapour control layer was installed onto the plywood followed by Polyroof ‘RES’ Insulation boards, which were then directly coated with the BBA approved Protec system. The school was quickly provided with a seamless, cost effective and long term waterproofing solution that came with a 20 year manufacturer’s guarantee.
Both the local authority and the school were pleased with the outcome of the refurbishment and this has created further opportunities for specifying Polyroof waterproofing system for the refurbishment of schools in and around Dumfries.
