Lead and copper
Lead roll for hotel refurbishment
Over 1000sq metres of Polyroof 185 lead roll finish were used on this hotel in York. The old, badly deteriorated lead was stripped off and replaced with a new exterior grade plywood deck onto which the Polyroof 185 lead roll system was applied. This is one of many hotel refurbishment projects throughout the UK where Polyroof systems have been specified.
Stately home on the Scottish borders
This roof of this stately home on the Scottish borders was refurbished using the Elastex System. The original lead roof was in a poor state of repair and in need of replacement. Unfortunately funds did not stretch to the replacement of the lead, so a cost efficient alternative was found by using Elastex which was overlayed onto the original substrate.
Note that the coating of lead requires considerable involvement from technical services to ensure that no problems are sealed within.
New build lead roll canopy
A lead roll effect canopy was constructed in Polyroof 185 to complement the dramatic frontage of this new building for the Co-operative Funeral Service. Polyroof new build is widely used on new build projects for porches, dormers, cladding and mansard roofs.
Warwickshire Council
The Gable ends for this Warwickshire Council building were originally specified in copper. This was changed to Polyroof 185 with a roll effect to produce a replica copper finish that was equally attractive but less expensive.
Blackpool Tower
Large sections of old copper cladding on the Blackpool Tower were in need of replacement. Copper was originally specified as a replacement but this was changed to Polyroof 185 with a roll effect, to produce a finish that was equally attractive but far less expensive.
Caol School, Fort William
Caol School near Fort William, Scotland, was originally covered in lead which had been leaking for many years, creating a major headache for the Highland Council. The old roof has now been encapsulated using the Elastex System to provide a seamless cold applied alternative at a cost efficient price, which will last for many years to come. The finish is resistant to vandalism and has no scrap value.
