GRAND DESIGNS PROJECT
Protec used to waterproof bungalow barrel roof
Protec has been used to waterproof the concrete barrel roof of a bungalow in Kent that featured on Grand Designs, Channel 4 April 2nd.
The featured property is a new three bedroom bungalow in Walderslade, Kent designed by the late renowned architect Richard Paxton. The vaulted barrel roof is constructed from a novel design of insulated concrete sandwich panels waterproofed with Protec, a flexible and seamless reinforced polyester membrane.

Eastbourne based Paul Rudden of ADL Roofing, Polyroof’s approved contractor for the area, carried out the work using Polyroof 185 GRP system for the flat roof section and Protec for the barrel roof. Owners Jo and Paul Tarling were full of praise for Paul’s work: “Paul Rudden was one of the most conscientious people we have had working on our build. He was on time, he worked hard, he was happy to be around and he left the site clear of any of his rubbish. Thoroughly recommended.”
