Polyroof’s range of liquid applied roofing systems are available with tough impact resistant finishes suitable for all balcony and walkway applications. They can be used for new build or refurbishment projects. Anti-slip grits are incorporated within the systems to provide slip resistance and surface wear protection. Systems are designed not only to accept regular traffic but also accept patio furniture, planters and the like, in order to create pleasing spaces for occupants of the building.

The systems are designed to accept regular foot traffic with no additional surface protection. Please note that if required optional loose laid timber decking or paving sited on proprietary supports may be used over the systems if required. Should decorative tiling be required, this should never be bonded directly to the systems and specialist assemblies will be required (schluter systems or similar). Polyroof 185 Anti-slip

Balcony and Walkway System for New Build and Refurbishment

Polyroof 185 is a glassfibre reinforced polyester waterproofing system that comes with a 20-year manufacturer’s guarantee. The system is used with exterior grade plywood and is suitable for new build and also overdecking or re-decking existing constructions.

Anti-slip grit finish should be specified for traffic areas and will provide protection for verandas, terraces, viewing platforms and balconies, without further covering. A selection of colours and alternative finishes are available.

Protec PolyFinish MMA Anti-Slip

Balcony and Walkway Refurbishment System

Protec is a reinforced polyester waterproofing system suitable for waterproofing a wide range of substrates including felt, asphalt and concrete. The system is available with 10-20 year manufacturer’s guarantees. Because the system can be applied direct to existing surfaces with minimal disruption, it is especially suitable for refurbishment applications. The system is also suitable for new build.

On balcony and walkway applications the system is finished with PolyFinish MMA, a tough impact resistant yet flexible methyl methacrylate based finishing coat. Used in conjunction with quartz sand aggregate, it has been specially developed to impart a highly wear resistant anti-slip finish to the Protec system.

Elastex Anti-Slip

Balcony Refurbishment System

Elastex is a reinforced polyurethane waterproofing system suitable for waterproofing a wide range of substrates including felt, asphalt and concrete. The system is available with 10-20 year manufacturer’s guarantees.

Because the system can be applied direct to existing surfaces with minimal disruption, it is suitable for refurbishment applications. For balcony applications white aluminium oxide grits are incorporated into the system to provide slip resistance and surface wear protection.

Note: Although these systems incorporate anti-slip surface finishes, they cannot eliminate all risk of slipping: this is particularly relevant in the case of ice forming on the roof surface.
